The Oyster & Lagoon Experience

A private journey from Porto to an island oyster farm accessible only by water — a working production site we access through a direct partnership with the producer, not available to walk-in visitors or conventional tour operators.

The experience begins with private departure from Porto in one of our premium vehicles or classic Land Rovers. As the city gives way to pine forests and coastal plains, the transition from urban life into one of Portugal's most protected ecosystems is immediate and tangible.

On arrival at the Aveiro lagoon, guests board a private boat and navigate through narrow channels, past salt flats and traditional fishing boats, towards a secluded island marina. It is a landscape shaped by tides, not tourism — and the sense of restricted access is evident from the first moment on the water.

The Experience

Your dedicated driver collects you from your hotel or residence in Porto. The drive south follows the Atlantic coastline, with the landscape gradually opening into the vast wetlands of the Ria de Aveiro — a natural lagoon system stretching over 11,000 hectares of channels, islands and salt marshes.

Once aboard your private boat, the pace shifts entirely. The route winds through protected channels where flamingos wade in the shallows and traditional salt harvesting still follows centuries-old rhythms. The destination is a small island marina — home to a working oyster farm where production and tasting happen side by side, metres from the water.

After the tasting, the journey can continue at your pace — with an optional seafood lunch at a waterfront restaurant, extended lagoon exploration, or a return timed to catch the golden light over the salt flats. Your driver meets you for the return to Porto, completing a seamless, fully private day.
